Law

Intent:

The curriculum is designed to ensure students will develop the ability to: Think critically about the role of law, recall detailed legal rules with authority, interpret and apply their understanding to solve a problem, construct a coherent and persuasive argument that recognises differing perspectives, both in writing and orally, explore legal issues with independence and enthusiasm.

A Level Law: Exam Board AQA

The four key areas of law students will be assessed on are;

1. The nature of law and the English legal system

2. Criminal law

3. Tort

4. Human rights

Throughout Year 12 and Year 13, students will undergo mock exams in line with the Academy’s assessment calendar.  Mock exams will be formulated from past exams (summer 2019+) and specimen papers provided by AQA.  In addition to this, students will complete regular knowledge tests and mini mock style exams based on specimen/past papers
