The Rothwell Cluster
The Rothwell Cluster team works with various agencies to provide a range of services (including specialist support where appropriate) to help bring about positive outcomes at school and at home for children, young people and their families. The Cluster provides its service mainly to the families and students attending 12 primary and high schools in the Rothwell Cluster as well as for students and their families who may be referred from some other agencies e.g GPs, Children’s Social Work Services etc. The Cluster works with referrals received through schools and agencies. Referrals for all Cluster services as described below must be made through a relevant member of school pastoral staff e.g via the Head of Year.
The Cluster’s part time Family Support Workers tailor their approach to each individual family’s needs. The Family Support Workers work with families either on a one to one basis offering support where needed on a time limited basis or may invite you to a small group with other parents/carers. The Family Support Workers might also sign-post you to relevant agencies who might be able to offer you support. Examples of the needs Family Support Workers can help with includes: managing your child’s behaviour and understanding their development, money/budgeting, housing, relationships etc.
The Cluster team includes professionally qualified part time staff who offer support for your child’s emotional health and well-being. This is mainly through offering short term weekly counselling.
The Cluster has a Facebook page and holds an email (distribution) list. The Cluster team occasionally posts a range of information including any activities the team is made aware of that your children and your family might like to join in with especially during the school holidays.
The Cluster’s part time Attendance Improvement Officer works with schools, children and young people and their families in order to help improve attendance at school. This service is mainly for primary schools in Rothwell Cluster however where there is a sibling attending a Cluster high school then support to improve attendance of all siblings can be offered.
