Rugby World Cup Trophy

On Wednesday 24th September The Rodillian Academy welcomed The Webb Ellis Rugby Union World Cup Trophy. The RFU are currently on a National tour publicising the 2015 Rugby Union World Cup as the RFU attempts to increase participation within Rugby Union across the country. The young players who are part of the Rodillian Rugby Programme were treated to an up-close and personal experience as they came face to face with the amazing Webb Ellis Trophy which has been victoriously lifted by many of the worlds best players since its inaugural appearance in the 1987 World Cup Final. As part of the RFU’s Emerging Schools Initiative, which supports many of the core values of The Rodillian Academy itself, the Academy was chosen to host the world cup trophy in light of the successful introduction and development of rugby union throughout the school community.
As the Academies Rugby Programme continues to develop, this experience will inspire and motivate the players and coaches as they look to achieve greater success this season.
