Rodillian Undefeated

As many questioned the move from Rugby League to Rugby Union, the Rodillian Academy’s Year Eight and Year Seven rugby squads have gone from strength to strength, notching up some impressive performances in the first half of the term.
The Year Eight side have battled superbly well with only the lack of Rugby Union experience holding them back. The Year Seven squad however, have not been shackled by competing against opposition with a year or two’s Rugby Union experience behind them. The Year Seven squad have trained incredibly well alongside their Year Eight team mates and the results against Rippon Grammar School, Rossett Grammar School and with victories in two White Rose Tournaments now stand them in good stead to face the tougher challenges which lie in wait this half term. The Year 7 squad defeated Harrogate Grammar School in the first round of the Yorkshire Cup. Both squads will play more established rugby schools in Queen Elizabeth Grammar School, Wakefield, Prince Henrys School and Silcoates to name a few. The unbeaten Year Seven squad eagerly await the challenge and opportunity to pit themselves against traditionally strong rugby schools and this half term will give the coaching staff at the Academy a true gauge of how far both squads have come at this early stage of the long term rugby programme.
