Rodillian Rugby – Moving Forward

As the number of teams within the Rodillian Rugby Programme grows year on year, we are now able to fulfil block fixtures against some of the bigger, traditional rugby schools across the north of England.

Two teams travelled to Harrogate Grammar School on Saturday, and the Rodillian Academy welcomed two teams from Harrogate on a cold and autumnal morning. With Hunter wellies and barber jackets a plenty, the Harrogate parents were treated to two very competitive games at Rodillian in which both home Rodillian teams came out victorious against well drill and rugby savvy opponents. However, the physicality of the Rodillian boys came to the fore during both home and away fixtures which resulted in four wins for the Rodillian Academy.

It is incredible to think that only three years ago, rugby union was not even played at the school and now we are able to field four well trained and physically conditioned teams for Saturday fixtures. It’s exciting to ponder what the future holds for the Rodillian Rugby Programme in the future!
