Operation Christmas Child is the world’s largest children’s Christmas project. They have been sending gift-filled shoeboxes around the world since 1990, bringing joy and hope into the lives of over 100 million underprivileged children.
Pictured are students from 8.6 who, amongst others, have been doing their shoeboxes as a form and have now completed 16 in total. This is the third year we have run the Operation Christmas Child, Shoebox Appeal which is organised by Samaritan’s Purse. Students fill a shoebox, individually, with a friend or as a group, with a variety of new items including stationary, toys, sweets and toiletries, wrapped in Christmas paper and then the boxes are shipped all over the world and given to children who won’t receive anything else this Christmas. Our students have been exceptionally generous and the KS3 office is filled with beautifully wrapped boxes waiting to be collected and sent to less fortunate children. Students are also holding a bake sale on Monday 11th November to raise funds towards additional transport costs.
