Rodillian Academy Cycle team

The Rodillian Academy Cycle team:- Lisa Head, Reece Thirlwell, Ben Parker and Reece Davies all year 10 students won the Regional qualifying race which took place in May, and on Thursday 7th July were one of two teams representing Leeds in the West Yorkshire School Games Final.

The competition was tough, not just because of the calibre of the opposition, many of whom were wearing ‘team lycra’ cycling attire but the weather also was atrocious at times. Despite a valiant attempt in three events including team time trial, relay race and individual race the team came fourth overall out of the 16 teams that were competing on the day. They missed out on third place and bronze medals by just one point!
Prince Henry were the winners, Brooksbank, Calderdale second and Holmfirth were third.
Still an achievement to come 4th in the whole of West Yorkshire and the team gave 100% so should be very proud of themselves.
