National Museum of Computing Visit
Several year 7, 8 and 9 students went to Milton Keynes to visit Bletchley Park and the National Museum of Computing.
The students attended three workshops, where they learned about the history of computing, and how the technology had changed over the years.
Students had the opportunity to play on old consoles, look at the first computers and write their name in machine code.
They all created the original snake game by hard coding this on 1980’s desktop computers and had a competition to see who could get the highest score. The day ended with students taking the Turing Test, which involved creating a program like Siri that responds to human input. All in all an excellent educational visit.
