During enrichment week in July, 12 year eleven students were given training on safe and responsible use of motorbikes. The course developed mechanic skills, taught the students how to ride using clutch, gears and also prepared then for future possibilities / consequences of becoming a road user. Riding off road on our track within the school taught them machine control, self confidence and by the end of the week all the participants were riding competently.
The school also provided an after school mountain bike cycle challenge around the same off road track and the top four fastest times for male and female competitors were rewarded with a motorbike enrichment training session around the course on the last day of school before the summer holidays. The students thoroughly enjoyed the activity which helped to develop self confidence and emphasise the safe use of motorbikes.
