The WKC World Championships have now become a massive event with nearly 2000 competitors of very high calibre.
Macy was entered in 2 individual sections, the Girls 12 years and under plus the 50kg light continuous and points speed fighting.

These were very tough divisions as they were in effect open weights which meant there were some very big girls to fight. After some very tough qualifying rounds, Macy won through to both finals on the Friday, winning both against two very talented American opponents, giving Macy 2 Individual Gold medals and 2 New World titles to her name.

Next up were the team events. The first was a very tough light contact knock out with the England team only entering a two girl team as opposed to the usual 3. This meant that they were one point down in each match. Despite this they made the semi-finals losing to the eventual winners USA. Macy was not involved as the first England girl lost her fight losing the Match 2 – 0 giving a Bronze Medal for Macy.

Then the team points speed fighting came next. A very strong England team made it through to the prestigious Night show which was streamed live via to the Martial Arts community. In front of over 2000 people and on live streamed TV England won the first match 3 – 2. Next up was Macy Wood against a very strong American. Macy put on an outstanding display of skill and speed crushing her opponent 11 – 3 to win a 3rd Gold and 3rd World Title.

3 Gold Medals, 3 New World Titles and a Bronze and an entire competition undefeated!

Macy has trained every single day of her trip for this outstanding result picking up the largest medal haul of any other England team member.
