Loughborough University Netball and Rugby Aspirational Experience:

The Year 10 Netball and Rugby squads travelled to Loughborough University on Wednesday 1st February to visit one of the leading universities in the country which also runs world class rugby and netball programmes.

The students took part in a coaching session with university coaches and ex – internationals George Shutter (England Rugby) and Tara St Claire (England Netball) followed by a tour of the unbelievable sports facilities within the University campus.

The Rodillian students then had an opportunity to speak to the Netball and Rugby programme managers along with netball and rugby 1st team players regarding life within the university and how they balance and prioritise their commitments on and off the sports fields and courts.

The students watched some of the numerous sporting fixtures which take place across the campus including Netball, Girls Rugby, 1st XV Men’s Rugby, Hockey and Tennis before departing back to Rodillian.

The aim of this trip was to enthuse and inspire our students to aspire to attend university in the future, based upon the unbelievable experiences and opportunities which are open to students at university which our students witness first hand during this trip.
