London Geography Lectures
On Monday February 10th the Geography Department took 8 AS students to the world famous Royal Geographical Society in Kensington, London, to attend its AS Conference. The students listened to a range of lectures from university lecturers and lead examiners on studying the subject at university, global warming, geography of rivers and coasts and examination technique. They heard the latest geographical research and case studies as well as rubbing shoulders with other A level students from all over the country.
Despite leaving at 5.00am and not returning until 8.30 pm, the students got a lot out of the day, which will hopefully see raised aspirations and positive examination results. Thanks go to Mr Higgins and Miss Marsh for their stamina.
