It has been a busy week at the Rodillian Academy as we have been working with local employers to raise the aspirations of young people and prepare them for the world of work.
Forty year twelve students have worked with Think Logistics, the logistics arm of the supermarket chain Morrisons. They had the opportunity to learn about the different employment opportunities within the logistics sector and why logistics is important for the UK economy. It was a fantastic event that was enjoyed by everyone involved.
We have also had Harvey Nash recruitment consultants in school working with a group of year thirteen students who are not going to university. The aim of this session was to help the students write their C.V’s in a professional manner.
Next half term the students will visit the Harvey Nash office in Leeds to work on application forms and interview techniques. Again this was a great session that will help to prepare our students for the world of work.
Finally we hosted a business breakfast where employers from the local area met with us to discuss ways in which we can help our students into the world of work.
